Brief Personal Statement: I am absolutely committed to promoting diversity at our institution. By becoming more diverse, we signal to the world that we fully embrace the spiritual connection of all people and support the idea that everyone should have the opportunity to reach his/her highest potential. As an African American, enhancing diversity is one of the ways that I honor the legacy of my ancestors, for many of them struggled to make our American democracy more inclusive. Their sacrifices ultimately created opportunities not only for African Americans but for others as well. I will forever be indebted to this heritage and history.
